Charity Day – 9 Oct 2025

Yet another successful Charity Day event at Keysborough Golf Club

On the morning of this Charity Day, just before 7am at the Keysborough course Masked Lapwings, Wood Ducks and Pied Magpie Larks have been up since pre-dawn. As have the MGC committee members who were then busy setting up at the clubhouse. The sky was clear with a small distant roll of grey clouds, as if to announce that the day will mostly be fine with some cloud cover. Windspeed, negligible. So far.
It was a bright and beautiful morning, buggies arriving at destination tees for a great day of golf. After a few holes the wind had became noticeably swirly, despatching hats and caps that were not secure. By the 18th, it could be said that it had been a very tough day at the office. However, spirits were high as there was anticipation of a drink, a delectable lunch and the possiblilty of winning a raffle or two.
This successful Charity Day was made assured by the illustrious organising committee at MGC. Every aspect has been meticulously planned for and executed with thoroughness and dedication. We hear with great pride that nearly $10,000 of donations have so far been received and will be handed to Inclusion Melbourne, the organisation supporting people with cognitive and intellectual disabilities.
To the MGC Committee, members and guests we thank you.
There is something lovely and magical when shafts of morning sun pierce through the trees landing a gentle golden glow on a brood of recently hatched ducklings. Sunlight reflected off texture or moisture can result in starbursts and bokehs of unexpected colours which was stunningly delivered this morning. Keysborough Golf Club has created a beautiful course that balances the needs of golfers, the wildlife and the environment. Lunch was delightful and beautifully presented and as usual F&B staff have been efficient and attentive.
Thank you, Keysborough Golf Club.
