A very wet Charity Day – 12 Oct 2023

Posted on: 13 October

An umbrella tumbles across the fairway, buggies roll off on their own and the greens … well, a little rubber duck would have better prospects of finding the cup than a urethane coated ball.
At 8 am we marched to our designated tees with full expectation and a bit of hope. By 9:45 am, all teams had simultaneously decided to wade back to the clubhouse whilst yearning for that cup of coffee. And so it was … a Shotgun Start and a Shotgun Finish.
Rain, gusty wind and the mention of snow notwithstanding, this pragmatic lot of golfers went about drying out to enjoy the best part of the day.

And so we did…
gather among the beautifully laid out prizes, hampers and auction items to greet old friends, meet new friends and catch up with fellow golfers.

And there were some very happy prize winners!

In conclusion,
despite the unfortunate weather conditions resulting in the abandonment of play, there were happy faces, good humour and plenty of loot to take home. The attendance and camaraderie was impressive. These photos are testimony to what has been an enjoyable and successful Charity Day in support of Inclusion Melbourne.
A massive ‘Thank You’ to the donors, to all present and to the MGC organising committee.
